This site is dedicated to the memory of Darren Stevens.

Darren Stevens was born in Dagenham on July 09, 1966. He is much loved and will always be remembered by all his friends and family. A true fighter in everyway, after being diagnosed in nov 2007, chemoradiotherapy followed by extensive surgery in April 2008 and a further 6 months of chemo, he fought back to fitness and rejoined his crew fully operational duties as a firefighter. Ran a comeback 10k road race in cyprus in march 2009, not the 10 london marathons he was used to but a brilliant achievement. then IT came back, again chemo and again recovered to go back to work, sadly this time only for a short spell as IT was back with a vengeance, again still carried on fighting for 22 months, trying different treatments and ending with a clinical trial for the Royal Marsden, always in mind that if it didn't work at least in would help someone in the future. We had some amazing adventures right up to the end, even climbed Haystacks in the Lake District in march 2012, he made it to the Olympics, his eldest nieces wedding and even to see the latest bond movie just weeks before, we sat in the back row, held hands and munched popcorn. We were only together for 10 years and married for 6 but we fitted in a lifetime of fun, laughter and love. Darren had a smile and personality that would light up a room and stay in our hearts forever. May he be resting (or running) in peace now, god bless you darling xxxxx
